Overview

In this project case study, I will be sharing my experience redesigning a payment gateway to include a new dashboard that presents KPIs for performance analysis. The goal was to provide users with deeper insights into their earnings and financial performance, along with additional features like reporting tools and management of associated accounts.

Throughout the design process, I focused on improving the user interface to enhance data accessibility and provide an intuitive overview of key financial metrics. The redesigned platform offered users a more efficient way to monitor performance, generate reports, and manage linked accounts.

Process

Breaking down the project

The redesign process of the payment gateway began with a deep dive into user feedback and industry standards. I conducted research to identify the most critical KPIs that would offer value to users, such as revenue trends, transaction volumes, and account balances. This research guided the design of the dashboard and additional features like reports and account management tools.

Building on strong foundations

Using this research, I developed the dashboard’s structure and functionalities. Key elements included real-time data visualization of performance indicators and an intuitive layout for navigating reports and account settings. Once the wireframes were approved, I built high-fidelity prototypes.

Collaborating with the internal team

I worked closely with the product, development, and finance teams throughout the process to ensure the dashboard provided accurate, actionable insights. This collaboration was crucial in refining the KPIs and ensuring the reporting features met the financial needs of the users.

Outcome

The redesigned payment gateway included a performance dashboard that delivered real-time KPIs, allowing users to track and analyze their earnings with ease. In addition, the platform offered robust reporting tools and a streamlined interface for managing linked accounts, significantly improving the overall user experience.

As a result, users benefited from enhanced financial visibility and better control over their accounts, leading to more informed decision-making and increased user satisfaction.
